Wordly Portal Publishes MSI Scores For Thai Acrylic’s Regel Fibre

Wordly Portal, which was earlier known as Higg has published the Material Sustainability Index (MSI) Scores for Regel fibre, a recycled acrylic fibre.

“Regel is a recycled acrylic fibre that offers a sustainable solution to the textile industry’s waste management challenges through an authentic chemical recycling process that delivers warmth, comfort and vibrant shades,” Thai Acrylics said.

“Regel along with another fibre brand, Radianza, also manufactured by Thailand based company, are now the only two acrylic fibre brands to have launched MSI Scores,” the company added in a press release.

“A hall mark of this achievement lies in the substantial reduction in the environmental footprint facilitated by Regel,” the Aditya Birla Group company informed.

In contrast to virgin acrylic fibre, the MSI Scores and LCA study shows a remarkable improvement as the carbon footprint is reduced by around 30 percent.

Thai Acrylics stated that this improvement is due to integration of a minimum 50 percent recycled content in Regel, which has effectively decreased reliance on virgin fibre and which is main contributor of carbon emissions.

“Regel has taken significant steps to minimise its environmental footprint and promote sustainability and also provide alternatives to fibres that align with environmentally conscious values,” Tuhin Kulshreshtha, Head of Marketing at Thai Acrylic said.

Regel also has other certifications like Bluesign approved; GRS certified; LCA Study (independently conducted); 50 and 75 percent recycled content variants and made by using clean solvents.
