Zhejiang Sitong Expands Polyester Capacity With Oerlikon Neumag BCF System
Zhejiang Sitong New Material Technology Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese carpet yarn manufacturer, is enhancing its polyester production by commissioning a BCF S+ system from Oerlikon Neumag. This expansion allows Sitong to balance its output of polyester, polyamide and polypropylene yarns.
With a total capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year, Sitong is one of Asia’s largest BCF yarn manufacturers. The addition of four new BCF S+ positions for polyester yarn reflects the company’s strategy to meet the growing demand for polyester carpet yarns. “Our broad portfolio strengthens our resilience against market fluctuations,” said Tang Liang, President and owner of Sitong.
The BCF S+ Monocolor plant excels in producing both polyester and polyamide 6 yarns, providing Sitong with a competitive edge through its ability to quickly adapt to changing trends without sacrificing quality.
The Asian carpet market is experiencing significant growth, driven by a revitalized automotive sector and increased travel. “Many hotels are renovating or opening, creating substantial demand for carpet yarn,” noted Sun Peng, Sales Director at Oerlikon Neumag in China.
This expansion positions Sitong to capitalize on the rising demand for high-quality carpet yarns in Asia.
