Zhongtai Polyester Commences Construction Of 250,000-Tonne Filament Project In Xinjiang

Xinjiang Zhongtai Polyester Fiber Materials Co., Ltd. has cleared all approvals and officially launched construction of its 250,000-tonne per year direct-spun polyester filament project, marking another major leap in Xinjiang’s fast-growing textile value chain. Backed by a 1.714-billion-yuan investment, the project brings world-class production technology to Bazhou and fills a long-standing regional gap in polyester filament manufacturing.
The new facility will work in tandem with Xinjiang’s existing polyester staple fibre capacity, forming a stronger, more complete polyester materials ecosystem. Last year, the Group’s Korla subsidiary commissioned its 250,000-tonne staple fibre project, establishing northwest China’s largest polyester staple fibre base and strengthening the region’s end-to-end “refining–chemical–spinning” chain.
Zhongtai Group has been accelerating industrial integration across Xinjiang, partnering with private and state-owned players such as Korla Zhongtai Textile, Lihua Group, Markor Chemical, Zhongkun Chemical, and PetroChina Urumqi Petrochemical. These collaborations have delivered key milestones, including a 1.2-million-tonne PTA project, securing Xinjiang’s raw material supply for polyester fibres.
Today, Zhongtai and its partners have built several complete industrial chains—from coal and chemicals to viscose, yarn, fabric, and garments, as well as cotton-to-clothing, polyester, engineering plastics and biodegradable materials. This expanding network is driving a highly efficient, circular industrial model that links upstream raw materials with downstream textile clusters.
