10 Uzbekistan Textile Companies Bag WRAP Certification

10 textile companies located in Uzbekistan have obtained the prestigious Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) international standard certificate.

“The Uztex group was among the first textile companies in Uzbekistan and Central Asia to receive the WRAP certificate,” according to the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association.

The WRAP certificate affirms that production of all the Uzbek textile companies aligns with the requisite social norms and rules essential for exporting products to the United States.

The certificate was formally presented by Hong May, Senior Director of Compliance at WRAP. Currently, 10 more enterprises are in the process of obtaining WRAP certification.

Data from the State Statistics Committee informs that in the first eleven months of 2023, yarn exports surged 108 percent year on year, while fabrics exports soared an impressive 185 percent.

Exports of home textiles and garments also grew by a massive 122 percent year on year in the period between January and November 2023. Uzbekistan now stitches garments for over 27 global brands.
