Max Glass Eco: Karl Mayer’s New Bestseller In Composite Machines

The Karl Mayer Technical Textiles Business Unit has introduced the Max Glass Eco, a reliable and economical machine for producing standard reinforcement textiles from glass fibres, especially non-crimp fabrics for the wind power industry. This versatile newcomer, with optional functions, ensures short amortization times and high efficiency. Operating at a maximum speed of 1,800 min-1, it can produce up to 410 m/h with a working width of 101″. The composite market has responded positively to its performance. Since its launch at JEC World in March, several purchase agreements have been signed.

Orders have been placed by customers in India and China, with demonstration models in Changzhou and Chemnitz already sold. The Max Glass Eco at Karl Mayer Technische Textilien in Saxony remains available for processing trials and performance tests until September.

Interest is also high in Eastern Europe. At Techtextil 2024 in Frankfurt, numerous meetings were held with Ralf Schramm, Sales Manager for the region, including discussions with potential customers like the Polish manufacturer Rymatex.

Beth Dufresne from Owens Corning’s glass reinforcements business praises the Max Glass Eco: “Karl Mayer has combined many proven solutions from its multiaxial machine line, bringing their advantages to the Max Glass Eco.” Owens Corning, a long-time customer of Karl Mayer, was particularly impressed by its best-of-all concept after reviewing presentation and video materials.
