WTT International To Unveil Compact 90% RO System At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, WTT International is showcasing a breakthrough in small-scale water recovery technology, a compact RO system capable of achieving 90% water recovery, a feat never before accomplished in a small-sized unit.

The new innovation of WTT termed RO  perfectly embodies the company’s spirit of solving real-world water challenges through smart engineering and automation.

“One of my mentors once asked, why are you focusing only on industrial wastewater when half of our domestic water goes down the drain?” recalls D. Venkatesh, Chairman & MD of WTT International Pvt. Ltd. “That question pushed me to think differently and that’s how this product was born.”

The innovation addresses a key gap in smaller RO systems, achieving high recovery has long been technically unfeasible due to hydraulic limitations and membrane constraints. After extensive R&D, the team succeeded in designing a system that delivers up to 90% recovery, now patented and ready for market deployment.

A Compact, Automated and Affordable Solution
The new system is designed to serve a wide range of applications from small industries and hospitals to office complexes, housing societies and commercial buildings, wherever hard water is a problem.

Unlike conventional softeners that require frequent regeneration (often consuming nearly 10% of water and raising operating costs to Rs 40 per KL in hard-water regions), this RO system delivers pure, softened water at just Rs 18–20 per KL, making it a cost-effective alternative.

Key Highlights of the New 90% RO System:

  • Compact & Fully Automated: A plug-and-play design housed in a single container; just connect and run.
  • High Water Recovery: Up to 90% recovery, the highest ever achieved in small-capacity RO units.
  • Versatile Applications: Suitable for industrial, commercial and residential use.
  • Operator-Friendly: Features automated cleaning (CIP) and auto-flushing, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Cost-Effective: Lower operational cost compared to traditional softening systems.

The system’s capacity ranges from 20,000 to 100,000 litres per day (at 20 hours operation) and its modular design allows scalability to any desired size.

“The smaller the unit, the greater the challenge and we’ve conquered it,” said Venkatesh. “This is a truly plug-and-play system. Even in offices or societies, anyone can operate it without technical expertise. The system takes care of its own cleaning and maintenance.”

Speaking about the exhibition, Andrea Pelissero, Head – Global Sales, WTT International Pvt. Ltd., said, “This year, being held in Singapore, ITMA Asia is easier to access from many regions. So, we expect a large number of visitors mainly from Asia. While very few may come from the U.S., South America or Europe, since they will attend the next ITMA in Germany in 2027, we are looking forward to meeting customers from Southeast Asia, the Far East and India.

“We are also expecting strong participation from countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Iran, places where travel has been challenging due to political or visa restrictions. Many of them have confirmed they will attend because Singapore, being an open and neutral location, makes it much easier and cost-effective to visit.”

With its innovative design, automation and affordability, this small yet powerful RO system is poised to make a big impact, not only in industrial water treatment but also in everyday water management across commercial and residential settings.
