Global Textile Technology Leaders Gather At ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025

The region’s leading textile machinery exhibition, ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, opened at the Singapore Expo, drawing strong participation from global technology leaders and regional manufacturers. The opening ceremony was officiated by Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Ministry of National Development, Republic of Singapore.

The four-day exhibition brings together more than 840 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions, showcasing the latest textile machinery and solutions to trade visitors from Asia’s major textile and garment hubs. Spanning over 70,000 square metres, the event features 19 product sectors covering the full manufacturing value chain from spinning, weaving and knitting to garment making, processing, automation and recycling. Many exhibitors have presented innovations aimed at enhancing sustainability, digitalisation and productivity.

Owned by the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX), ITMA ASIA has returned to Singapore for the first time in 20 years, having previously been held at the Singapore Expo in 2001 and 2005. Since 2008, the exhibition has been jointly held with CITME, organised by the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT TEX. The 2025 edition marks the first time the combined exhibition has been staged outside of China.

Alex Zucchi, President of CEMATEX, stated the Singapore edition marks an important milestone for the show. “By bringing the latest machinery and digital solutions closer to growth markets across South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East, we aim to provide a trusted platform for mill owners to source cutting-edge technologies that support operational modernisation and long-term competitiveness, particularly in advancing sustainability,” Zucchi notes.

Gu Ping, President of CTMA, highlighted the significance of the event amid global industrial change. “Amid a new wave of digital revolution, the global textile and textile machinery sectors now stand at the forefront of strategic transformation. As a premier platform for textile machinery, the exhibition not only showcases end-to-end solutions, but also acts as a bridge for efficient business collaboration across the supply chain” he says.

Exhibitors from CEMATEX countries and China account for nearly 70 per cent of the total exhibit space. A total of 281 exhibitors from nine CEMATEX countries have taken up more than 38 per cent of the show floor, with Italy fielding the largest contingent of 98 exhibitors, followed by Germany and Switzerland. China is represented by 310 exhibitors occupying 30 per cent of the exhibit space, while India ranks third with 87 exhibitors.

Among the 19 product sectors, finishing is the largest, featuring 184 exhibitors (22 per cent of exhibit space), followed by spinning (167 exhibitors, 19 per cent), knitting (99 exhibitors, 15 per cent), weaving (80 exhibitors, 11 per cent), and printing (56 exhibitors, 10 per cent).

Across the exhibition halls, exhibitors have highlighted technologies promoting circularity, resource efficiency, waterless processing and renewable energy integration, reflecting the industry’s accelerating shift from volume-driven growth toward sustainable and impact-oriented competitiveness.

ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 has been organised by ITMA Services and co-organised by Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Company. The event also features the ITMA Sustainability Forum: Accelerating the Green Transition, to be held on 30 October in partnership with the Singapore Fashion Council. The half-day forum will explore strategies for building a greener textile value chain and driving collective industry transformation.
