Techtextil India 2025 Opens, Marking A New Era For Functional Textiles

Techtextil India 2025, the country’s flagship trade fair for technical textiles, nonwovens and composites, opened today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, celebrating its 10th edition. Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the three-day event (19–21 November 2025) brings together 215 exhibitors, including 100 first-time participants and showcases innovations across 12 application-oriented textile segments.
With 300+ brands, a dedicated Sporttech Pavilion and a German Pavilion featuring 13 companies, the event offers abundant opportunities for business engagement, product discovery and collaboration across the textile value chain.
The inauguration took place in the presence of key dignitaries, including R Lalitha, IAS, Director of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu; Pramod Khosla, Member, Committee of Administration, MATEXIL, Mahesh Kudav, Chairman, Indian Technical Textiles Association, Sabine Scharrer, Director, Brand Management – Technical Textiles and Textile Processing, Messe Frankfurt GmbH and Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd
Sharing her perspective, Guest of Honour R Lalitha said, “Techtextil India 2025 brings together innovators, policymakers and industry leaders to shape forward-looking policies. Man-made fibres are the sunrise sector and sustainability and circularity will drive advanced technologies and R&D in India.”
Commenting on the milestone edition, Raj Manek noted, “India’s textile industry is transforming rapidly, powered by government support, technology and global demand for sustainable materials. The opening day witnessed strong participation, dynamic discussions and renewed collaboration among industry stakeholders. Over the next two days, the Techtextil Symposium will feature deep-dive sessions on emerging opportunities in technical textiles, sustainability, circular supply chains, India’s activewear growth, waste-to-fabric innovation and more.
The expo is supported by leading industry bodies including MATEXIL, the Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), Department of Textiles (Government of Maharashtra) and the Government of Tamil Nadu as Partner State.
