Custom T-Shirt Printing Market To Reach US$ 12.4 Bn By 2036

The global custom T-shirt printing market is set for strong growth, driven by rising demand for personalised apparel and the rapid adoption of print-on-demand (POD) models, according to a new report by Future Market Insights.

The market is projected to grow from US$ 5.1 billion in 2026 to US$ 12.4 billion by 2036, registering a CAGR of 9.3%. Growth is being fuelled by increasing demand from corporate merchandise programmes, events, sports teams and small businesses, alongside improvements in digital production workflows.

Operational efficiency is emerging as a key differentiator, with suppliers focusing on standardised processes, automated workflows and streamlined design libraries to manage short-run orders at scale while maintaining margins.

Technology adoption is also accelerating, particularly in print-on-demand and digital textile printing, enabling faster turnaround times, lower inventory risks and greater flexibility in small-batch production. Hybrid production models—combining screen printing for volume and direct-to-garment (DTG) for customisation—are becoming increasingly common.

Screen printing continues to dominate with a 46% market share due to its cost efficiency for bulk orders, while graphic-based designs account for 61% of demand. Men’s apparel leads end-use at 43%, supported by consistent demand across workwear and promotional segments. Despite digital growth, offline channels still account for 58% of sales, driven by strong B2B relationships.

Regionally, the United States leads growth with a 9.8% CAGR, followed by South Korea and the United Kingdom, where demand is supported by design-led customisation and corporate branding needs.

Key players such as Printful Inc., Custom Ink, and Vistaprint are focusing on scalable production, digital integration and consistent delivery performance to stay competitive.

With sustainability gaining traction, the industry is also seeing increased adoption of water-based inks and eco-friendly processes. As digital capabilities expand and demand for customised apparel rises, the market is well-positioned for sustained growth over the next decade.
