AMANN Group To Expand Manufacturing Footprint In Bangladesh

German industrial thread manufacturer AMANN Group has announced plans to expand its manufacturing footprint in Bangladesh, reinforcing its long-term commitment to one of the world’s largest apparel sourcing destinations.

The development was shared by AMANN Group CEO Markus Nicolaus during a meeting with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) leadership in Dhaka. Discussions focused on the evolving structure of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry, investment opportunities, and emerging global trade challenges.

BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan highlighted that Bangladesh’s apparel sector is undergoing a significant transformation, with increasing focus on product diversification and a shift toward higher-value garment production. He noted that global suppliers like AMANN could play a deeper strategic role in strengthening the industry’s competitiveness and global positioning.

Markus Nicolaus said Bangladesh continues to offer strong long-term growth potential, particularly in high-tech and premium textile segments. He added that the company is actively evaluating additional investment opportunities to expand its role in the country’s textile value chain.

The meeting also covered key industry concerns, including labour standards, global tariff uncertainties and infrastructure readiness across logistics, energy and port systems.

AMANN Group currently operates in Bangladesh through AMANN Bangladesh Ltd., and its planned expansion is expected to further strengthen its presence in the country’s apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
