Hellmann–MAS Holdings To Develop New Logistics Hub In Sri Lanka

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and MAS Holdings have announced the development of a new built-to-suit contract logistics facility in Kimbulapitiya, Sri Lanka, marking a key expansion of their joint venture Hellmann MAS Supply Chain (HMSC).

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior representatives including Kamal Boyagama (HMSC), Patrick Grzywa (Hellmann IMEA), Shakthi Ranatunge (MAS Holdings), Ahamed Rahman (Hellmann Sri Lanka), and Jehan Mutaliph (MAS Holdings).

Strategically located in the Gampaha district of Sri Lanka’s western province, just six kilometres from Bandaranaike International Airport, the new facility is designed to function as a dedicated fashion logistics hub within Hellmann’s South Asia network. Spanning over 8,000 square metres, the centre will feature dual-zone humidity and climate control systems along with solar-powered infrastructure, supporting sustainable and high-performance operations.

The development forms part of Hellmann’s Forward 2030 strategy, strengthening its focus on fashion logistics as a core growth vertical. Sri Lanka’s geographic positioning as a gateway between Asia, Africa and Europe is expected to enhance global supply chain connectivity and service efficiency for international fashion brands.

For MAS Holdings, the investment further reinforces its evolution beyond traditional apparel manufacturing into integrated, technology-driven supply chain solutions. The company noted that the facility will enhance speed, agility and resilience across regional and global distribution networks.

The HMSC joint venture continues to combine Hellmann’s global logistics expertise with MAS Holdings’ deep apparel manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, strengthening Sri Lanka’s role as a competitive hub in global fashion logistics.
