Sanitized, Rudolf Unveil Odour Control And Weather Protection Technologies

Sanitized and Rudolf have introduced textile finishing technologies aimed at extending the functional life of apparel and technical textiles through lasting odour control and improved weather protection.
Sanitized’s Odorex Eon targets both odour during wear and the gradual build-up of residues that can leave garments smelling unpleasant even after washing. Rudolf’s RUCO-DRY ECO CWS focuses on water repellency and resistance to water penetration in cotton fabrics.
According to Sanitized, persistent odour, often described as “permastink”, can develop as sebum and odour-causing residues accumulate on textile fibres. This can discourage consumers from wearing garments even when the fabric remains physically intact.
Odorex Eon uses a biocide-free, dual-action technology that adsorbs and neutralises odour molecules during wear. It also creates a protective layer that helps sebum residues wash out during laundering, reducing the build-up associated with persistent odour, the company said.
“Durability is often discussed in terms of physical properties such as strength or abrasion resistance. But a garment that is technically intact has little value if persistent odour means it is no longer worn,” said Stefan Müller, Head of BU Textile Additives, Sanitized AG. “With Odorex Eon, we are broadening the conversation around durability by addressing one of the factors that can affect a garment’s continued wearability.”
Complementing the odour-control technology, Rudolf’s RUCO-DRY ECO CWS combines water repellency with hydrostatic pressure resistance, a measure of a fabric’s ability to resist water penetration under pressure. The technology can be marketed under the company’s BIONIC-FINISH ECO brand.
Designed for cotton fabrics, its intended applications include outdoor apparel, tents, awnings and umbrellas, where protection against rain and moisture is central to performance.
“In technical textiles, durability is measured by performance under real-life conditions. Whether used in tents, outdoor equipment, or other demanding applications, materials must provide reliable protection against rain and moisture throughout their service life. With RUCO-DRY ECO CWS, we offer a solution that combines durable water repellency with outstanding hydrostatic pressure resistance, helping manufacturers create weather-resistant textiles that are built to last,” said Luka Kovacevic, Global Head of Application Center Technical Textiles at Rudolf.
Sanitized scheduled the official launch of Odorex Eon at Performance Days Munich, held on October 13–14, 2026, with the technology featured at its booth in Hall A6, Booth C05.
