Youngone To Expand Its Textile Operations In Uzbekistan

South Korean textile and apparel manufacturer Youngone Corporation has announced plans to invest an additional US$ 40 million in Uzbekistan over the next three years as it seeks to expand its manufacturing footprint and build a fully integrated textile value chain in the country.

The investment plan was unveiled by company President Park Jae-yong during the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Forum 2026 held in Tashkent. The latest commitment builds on approximately US$ 22 million already invested by the company in developing local textile manufacturing operations.

Youngone aims to establish a vertically integrated production ecosystem in Uzbekistan, covering the entire textile value chain from sourcing raw cotton and spinning yarn to fabric production, knitting, and garment manufacturing. The strategy is designed to leverage Uzbekistan’s strong cotton base while enhancing value addition within the country.

The company’s primary manufacturing operations are currently located in Samarkand. As part of its expansion roadmap, Youngone plans to commission additional textile processing facilities next year, strengthening its production capabilities and increasing local value creation.

According to the company, Uzbekistan’s preferential trade access to key export markets, particularly duty-free access to Europe, makes it an attractive destination for textile investments. Its strategic location also provides efficient access to CIS countries and other Central Asian markets.

Initially, the expanded facilities will focus on producing premium cotton-based products. Over the longer term, Youngone intends to diversify into the production of high-performance and functional apparel, including technical sportswear for global markets.

Alongside manufacturing expansion, the company is investing in workforce development through technical training programmes and introducing sustainability initiatives across its operations. These include the adoption of renewable energy solutions such as solar power and the use of biomass to reduce the environmental footprint of production.

Youngone is also supporting community development projects in the region through cultural and social initiatives, reflecting its broader commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth in Uzbekistan.
