The 19th edition of HGH India, the country’s leading trade show for home textiles, home décor, houseware and gifts, opened on today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, bringing together more than 700 Indian and international brands and manufacturers.

The four-day event was inaugurated by Vrunda Manohar Desai, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The ceremony was also attended by Walter Ferrara, Consul General of Italy, Vikas Pansare, Managing Director, Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (MSSIDC), along with leading architects, designers and industry representatives.

Speaking at the inauguration, Arun Roongta, Managing Director of Texzone Information Services Pvt. Ltd., said HGH India has evolved into a platform that reflects the rapid transformation of India’s home and lifestyle industry, driven by innovation, sustainability and global design trends.

Textile Commissioner Vrunda Manohar Desai said sustainability has become an integral part of business strategy rather than just a trend. She noted that increasing emphasis on sustainable textiles, circularity and traceability across the home textiles value chain makes platforms such as HGH India important for fostering collaboration among manufacturers, buyers and designers.

Highlighting growing India-Italy cooperation, Walter Ferrara said India’s expanding demand for premium home furnishings and décor presents strong opportunities for collaboration with Italian companies. He said the official Italian Pavilion showcases five Italian brands representing design, craftsmanship and sustainability.

Organised by Texzone Information Services Pvt. Ltd., the 2026 edition is built around three themes Contemporary, Futuristic and Sustainable and features several dedicated pavilions and knowledge initiatives.

Among the key attractions are the PreSense Trend Forecast 2026-27, the Technical Textiles Pavilion, the Italian Pavilion, the Sustainability Pavilion, the Smart Kitchen Pavilion, the Indian Heritage Pavilion and the H-Circle Product Innovation Awards. The exhibition also includes HGH India Interactive, a series of expert-led discussions on retail, consumer trends, sustainability, technical textiles and the future of India’s home and lifestyle market.

According to the organisers, HGH India has consistently maintained around 90 per cent buyer retention and 80 per cent exhibitor return, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading B2B sourcing platforms for the home sector.
