Rupa & Company Begins FY27 On Strong Note, Profit Jumps 55%

Rupa & Company Ltd., one of India’s leading knitwear and innerwear brands, reported a strong start to FY27, posting double-digit growth in revenue and profitability for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The company’s revenue from operations rose 10.4% year-on-year to Rs 207.4 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 187.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Gross profit increased 15.7% to Rs 75.1 crore, while gross profit margin improved to 36.2% from 34.7% a year ago.
EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 15.7 crore, registering a robust growth of 30.8% over Q1 FY26. EBITDA margin expanded by 122 basis points to 7.8%, reflecting the benefits of improved pricing, better product mix and disciplined cost management.
Profit After Tax (PAT) surged 55.4% year-on-year to Rs 10.4 crore, compared with Rs 6.7 crore in the same period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs 1.01 from Rs 0.65.
Commenting on the performance, Vikash Agarwal, Promoter & Director, said the company delivered steady growth driven by healthy consumer demand and improving traction across key categories, particularly in the value segment. He noted that exports and modern trade, including e-commerce, continued to gain momentum and together contributed around 9% of overall revenues during the quarter.
The company highlighted that exports contributed nearly 4% of revenue, while modern trade and e-commerce accounted for about 5%, providing further opportunities to expand market reach and strengthen brand presence.
Rupa also maintained a net cash surplus of about Rs 77 crore as of June 2026, underlining its strong balance sheet and financial flexibility.
Management said the pricing environment for yarn remains favourable and the company continues to adopt calibrated pricing strategies to translate improved realizations into stronger margins. Going forward, Rupa plans to focus on expanding distribution, strengthening its presence in the value segment, improving portfolio mix and leveraging growth opportunities across modern trade and export markets.
