V2 Retail Adds 24 Stores In August, Crosses 415-Store Mark

V2 Retail Ltd has accelerated its retail expansion, opening 24 new stores in August 2026 and taking its nationwide store count beyond 415-mark across more than 345 cities.
The company said the August rollout was its strongest single-month store expansion so far, with new outlets launched across 11 states, primarily in Tier-II, Tier-III and Tier-IV markets.
The expansion reflects V2 Retail’s strategy of taking organised fashion retail deeper into smaller cities and towns. While one of the new stores was opened in Bengaluru, the rollout also extended to markets such as Malkangiri in Odisha and Banka in Bihar.
The 24 stores have added nearly 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space to V2 Retail’s network. With each store employing around 40 people, the August expansion is estimated to have created close to 1,000 direct jobs.
The company has set a broader target of generating more than 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities annually through its store expansion programme.
V2 Retail’s August expansion follows its recent milestone of crossing 400 stores nationwide and comes after a strong first quarter. The company has also highlighted its expansion through an AI-generated video series across its social media platforms under its “A Bigger V2, Building a Better Bharat” campaign.
Ram Chandra Agarwal, Founder, V2 Retail, said the August rollout demonstrated the company’s ability to coordinate expansion across markets with different operating conditions.
“We’ve opened stores fast on a single day before, but doing 24 across a full month, in towns as different as Bangalore and Malkangiri, is a different kind of test. It means every part of the system, from real estate to hiring to stock, is firing together across very different markets. That’s the real story here, not just the number. We are building a better Bharat, with a bigger V2,” he said.

Akash Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, V2 Retail Ltd, said the focus was on maintaining the pace of expansion rather than relying on one-off store-opening spikes.
“August was about proving we can sustain pace, not just spike it. Following our strong Q1 financial trajectories where revenue surged 58% YoY, we are firmly targeting 170 to 200 new stores this fiscal, largely in Tier-II and Tier-III markets,” he said.
Agarwal added that the expansion is being funded through internal accruals and cash flows, without equity dilution. The company is also investing in supply-chain digitalisation to support its growing retail network.
“Small-town India is where most of this growth is happening,” he said.
With its store network now above 415 outlets, V2 Retail is positioning smaller Indian markets as the key growth engine for its next phase of expansion.
