ACIMIT Launches ‘The Heritage’ Website Showcasing Century Of Italian Textile Machinery

ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) and the Italian Trade Agency have launched “The Heritage,” a virtual exhibition that chronicles over a century of Italian textile machinery history. Supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this digital platform extends the photographic journey initially showcased at ITMA 2023 Milan, the premier trade fair for the textile machinery sector.
The Heritage offers an immersive experience, featuring a rich gallery of images contributed by numerous textile machinery companies. The website is organized into several sections: Machineries, Entrepreneurs, Factories, World, Companies, Exhibition, and ACIMIT. Visitors can explore these areas to discover drawings and photographs of machinery models that have shaped individual companies, images of Italian entrepreneurs at trade fairs and industry events, and vintage photos of production plants.
Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, emphasized the initiative’s goal, “The main objective of the exhibition held at ITMA 2023 and consequently of the website The Heritage is to give voice, through the lens of photographs and corporate testimonies, to the history, values, and technological evolution of the Italian textile machinery industry.”
Salvadè added that Italy’s position as a world leader in the sector is bolstered by a history marked by widespread expertise and continuous innovation. The Heritage is designed as a dynamic, shared virtual space, continually enriched by contributions from companies, reflecting the ongoing evolution of the Italian textile machinery industry.
