AEPC Celebrates 46th Foundation Day

Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) celebrated its 46th Foundation Day at its headquarters at Apparel House in Gurugram. The event began with lighting of lamp and cutting of cake.

Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman AEPC, Rakesh Vaid, Vice Chairman ATDC, HKL Magu Past Chairman AEPC, Gautam Nair, Committee Member, Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General AEPC and staff members were present.

“Firstly, on behalf of the entire apparel export community, I extend my sincere thanks to the government on the Foundation Day of AEPC,” Sudhir Sekhri said in his address. “My special thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal for providing all help to the industry and an ease of doing export environment,” he added

“The government’s key initiatives such as FTAs with Australia, Mauritius and UAE, extension of RoSCTL, enhanced duty drawback, PM MITRA, PLI for technical textiles, etc. will help us to focus on diversification of markets and products,” Sekhri stated.

“We are also grateful to the Ministry of Textiles for aggressively pursuing the creation of an ecosystem for the growth of MMF segment. This will help us in creating new opportunities in the MMF segment,” he noted.

AEPC has been a major contributor in the export growth story of India through Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) in different parts of the world. The Council has planned to promote the global reach of Indian apparel exports to newer export destinations through its export promotion activities in 2024-25.

AEPC aggressively motivates the Indian garment industry towards adopting sustainable practices and circular fashion and embraces the global best practices on environmental and social compliance.

“Celebrating 46 glorious years by providing support to the apparel industry for enhancing their global reach through rigorous market intelligence, global compliance, trade facilitation and policy advocacy,” said Mithileshwar Thakur.

AEPC has also initiated a social media blast to spread awareness about AEPC’s ongoing activities focusing on how government supports the apparel industry.
