Bangla Clothing Exports Up 13.07% In Q1FY’24

Bangladesh apparel exports increased to $11.61 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2023-24, up 13.07 percent over $10.27 billion recorded in the comparable quarter of fiscal 2022-23.

Data from the Export Promotion Bureau revealed that of overall garment exports, knitwear exports expanded 19.70 percent year on year to $6.76 billion in the July to September period.

While woven clothing shipments rose slowly at 4.97 per cent to $4.85 billion in the period under review as against $4.62 billion in the same quarter of earlier fiscal.

But home textile exports declined to $189.5 million in the first three months of fiscal 2023-24, down by a considerable 46.39 percent from a year ago quarter.
