Bangladesh Home Textile Exports Report Growth After 18 Months
Bangladesh reported an increase in home textile exports in February 2024 after a period of 18 months or since September 2022, according to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
The South Asian country exported home textiles products amounting to US $84.61 million, up 9.9 percent as against $77 million in February 2023
“Home textile exports have been declining following the economic recession due to the Russia-Ukraine war since February 2022,” Rashed Mosharraf, ED at Zaber & Zubair Fabrics told TBS News.
“Besides that, one of our major competitors Pakistan is also getting an advantage over Bangladesh, due to currency exchange rates,” he added.
“Considering the order situation, March onwards will be better for home textile exports than the last six months, with sales in the global market also improving gradually,” Mosharraf stated.
