Bangladesh Seeks Chinese Investment In Textile & Jute Sectors
Bangladesh invited Chinese investors to invest in its textile and jute sectors, since China is a development partner of Bangladesh.
Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak said this in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen at his office.
Nanak was accompanied by senior textile ministry officials, while Wen was also accompanied by embassy officials at the meeting.
The minister said the Chinese ambassador praised Bangladesh for its development initiatives in various sectors, while briefing reporters after the meeting.
Media reports stated that Nanak briefed the Chinese envoy on the progress of various development projects in Bangladesh’s textiles and jute industry.
The textile minister also told the media that China is playing an important role for the development of Bangladesh and hoped the cooperation would continue to turn the country into a ‘Smart Bangladesh’.
