Bawankule Orders Swift Action On Koradi Women’s Projects, Warns Of Delays

Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has issued strict directives to accelerate the implementation of ongoing women empowerment projects under the Maharashtra Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) in Koradi. Expressing strong dissatisfaction over delays and irregularities, Bawankule warned that any laxity would result in stringent action against the responsible officials.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on May 20 at Mantralaya, held in the chamber of Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, Bawankule reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring timely execution of women-centric employment initiatives. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for these projects and emphasized the importance of regular training programs and timely disbursement of stipends.

Also present at the meeting were Minister Aditi Tatkare, Secretary Dr. Anup Kumar Yadav, MAVIM Managing Director Nayana Gunde, Department Joint Secretary V.R. Thakur, General Manager Ravindra Sawant, and other senior officials.

The MAVIM projects in Koradi include setting up garment processing units, incense stick production from floral waste, eco-friendly Kalamkari and textile processing ventures, and sanitary napkin manufacturing units. These projects aim to provide employment to around 200 rural women, enhancing their financial independence and skill sets.

“As the Guardian Minister of Nagpur, fast-tracking these women empowerment projects in Koradi is my top priority,” said Bawankule. “Women will be equipped with skill-based training, enabling them to become self-reliant.”

He instructed officials to ensure that a structured six-month training program is conducted regularly and that all stipends are disbursed without delays. Minister Aditi Tatkare also directed immediate action to operationalize the garment training centre in Koradi. “Only a single tender process should be conducted, and the centre must be made functional within the stipulated deadline,” she said.

The MAVIM initiatives are crucial for generating local employment and improving the socio-economic status of rural women by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities and boosting their self-confidence through skill development.

Bawankule concluded with a strong message of accountability, stating, “There must be no further delays. Regular monitoring is essential, and any irregularities will be met with strict action.”
