Carbonfact Acquires Vaayu To Create Fashion’s Largest Environmental Data Platform

Carbonfact has acquired Vaayu, bringing together two of fashion’s leading environmental sustainability platforms to create the industry’s most comprehensive product-level environmental dataset.

The acquisition combines Carbonfact’s environmental data platform, trusted by more than 200 apparel and footwear brands, with Vaayu’s product impact expertise and customer network of over 100 brands.

The move comes as the fashion industry faces growing regulatory pressure, with frameworks such as Digital Product Passports (DPP), the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), CSRD, and California’s SB 253 requiring more detailed and defensible product-level environmental data.

The combined platform will provide brands with access to over 150,000 fashion-specific emission factors, coverage of 200+ textile processes and 650+ material categories across 144 countries and data insights from more than 7,000 textile factories.

Carbonfact said the integration will allow brands to measure, report, and reduce environmental impact through a unified platform covering carbon accounting, product impact measurement, decarbonization planning, and regulatory reporting.

The company is also advancing its vision of “Environmental Intelligence,” an AI-powered layer designed to help fashion brands turn complex sustainability data into actionable decisions.

The acquisition expands Carbonfact’s reach to a combined network of more than 300 apparel and footwear brands, reinforcing its position as a key technology partner in fashion’s transition toward data-driven decarbonization.
