China’s Textile & Apparel Export Growth Trajectory Continues
China’s textile and apparel exports in January and February continued on the growth trajectory which started in December last year.
According to latest data of the General Administration of Customs, overseas shipments of textiles and clothing in the first two months of 2024 were US $45.09 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.3 percent.
Of these, textile exports were $21.71 billion, growing by 15.5 percent year over year and garment exports stood at $23.38 billion, an increase of 13.1 percent over the comparable months of 2022.
However, despite the growth in export values, the export volumes in January and February has not yet reached the level of the same period in 2022.
According to experts, presently, China’s textile and apparel foreign trade is still facing many uncertain factors and is still severe and complex.
