Chinese Firm Installs Third Andritz Nonwovens Production Line

A Chinese high-end nonwoven synthetic leather producer has installed a third line from Andritz, which will enable the company to address growing demand for synthetic suede in the automotive sector.

The advanced line installed at Meisheng is equipped with a ProWid system that allows Meisheng to ensure optimum web weight regularity across the full product width.

“As a result, the web distribution is drastically improved, which reduces material consumption or fibres and improves web weight evenness,” Andritz said in a press release.

These factors are particularly important in synthetic leather manufacturing for automotive applications.

“In view of the strong demand for our premium synthetic suede, we have placed our trust in Andritz for the third time,” Qian Guochun, CEO of Meisheng said.

“With the new needlepunch line, we are expanding our capacity while maintaining our high quality standards,” he added.

Founded in 1994, Zhejiang Meisheng New Material is a producer of high-end textiles and nonwoven synthetic leather.

Through a consistent focus on R&D, Meisheng has established itself as a pioneer in the production of nonwoven microfibre synthetic leather in China.
