CHT Group Exceeds Sustainability Targets For 2025

The CHT Group has published its Sustainability Report 2024, showcasing significant progress in the ecological transformation of its business activities. With total sales of EUR 619 million and sustainable chemical solutions accounting for 84% of revenue, the company has already surpassed its 2025 targets.
“Sustainability is and remains our overarching corporate goal. We invest resources where they have the greatest impact for our customers, for the society and for the environment. Sustainability is the future of our company,” said Dr. Lorenza Sartorelli, COO of the CHT Group.
Key achievements in 2024 include confirmation of science-based climate targets by the SBTi, aiming for a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 25% in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, with climate neutrality targeted by 2045.
The company increased the use of renewable energy and implemented resource-saving measures in production, while launching innovative products such as Cool Dye for recyclable fibres and Pigmentura, a binder-free pigment dyeing process. Supply chain sustainability also progressed, with 100% of suppliers signing the CHT Code of Conduct, supported by risk analyses and sustainability assessments.
On the social front, 95% of employees worldwide earn more than a living wage, complemented by programmes for occupational safety, further training and diversity initiatives.
The CHT Group maintained its EcoVadis Gold rating in 2024, cementing its position as a sustainability leader in the chemical industry. For the first time, the latest report applies stricter reporting standards based on the principle of double materiality, evaluating both environmental and societal impacts alongside financial risks and opportunities.
Beyond its own operations, the company develops chemical solutions to help customers achieve sustainability goals, enabling products to carry clear sustainability labels through resource-efficient and innovative processes.
“Sustainability is not a trend but an integral part of our strategy and business model. With smart chemistry, we contribute measurably to climate protection and resource conservation, for our customers and future generations,” said Dr. Annegret Vester, Chief Sustainability Officer of the CHT Group.
The 2024 report demonstrates that responsible action and economic success go hand-in-hand, positioning the CHT Group as a pioneering force in the sustainable transformation of the chemical industry.
