CITI Partners with Ministry of Textiles for Sustainable Development in Samarth Scheme

The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has collaborated with the Ministry of Textiles under the Samarth scheme. CITI serves as a crucial interface between the Government of India and the textile and apparel industry, providing essential policy inputs and supporting the sector on various fronts, including sustainable development, research and advisory services.

As a proactive participant in the textile and apparel industry, CITI is committed to creating green jobs and promoting sustainability across the value chain. The organization is actively engaged in developing innovative models to foster a sustainable ecosystem in the apparel and textile industry. CITI envisions a future where green jobs in sustainability verticals will not only enhance environmental preservation but also drive economic growth.

“Our aim is to establish a value chain that promotes sustainable practices and creates green job opportunities for the betterment of our industry and the environment. We are excited to collaborate with like-minded organizations to drive positive change,” said CITI.

In its unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, CITI has already made significant strides in capacity building and skill development. Over 3000 candidates have been trained and certified in various categories, such as sewing machine operators and checkers, paving the way for a skilled workforce in the industry.
