Ecosis And Decathlon Sign MoU To Expand Textile-To-Textile Recycled Polyester Use

Ecosis, through Texfil Pvt. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Filatex India Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Decathlon Sports India to collaborate on expanding the use of textile-to-textile recycled polyester in sports apparel.
The MoU concludes nearly two years of engagement between the two organisations, encompassing extensive technical discussions, material evaluations and alignment on scalable circularity solutions. The partnership leverages Filatex India’s long-standing expertise across the polyester value chain and Ecosis’ focus on innovation-led circular manufacturing.
Under the collaboration, Decathlon Sports India will conduct structured trials of Ecosis recycled polyester chips and yarn across its manufacturing ecosystem. The initiative aims to integrate post-consumer textile waste back into production, reducing dependence on virgin polyester while maintaining performance, quality consistency and traceability.
The partnership places strong emphasis on deployment under real manufacturing conditions, scalability and material reliability, key factors in transitioning circular materials from pilot stages to mainstream apparel applications.
Ecosis has developed a patented technology that converts post-consumer textile waste into virgin-grade polyester. This collaboration provides a pathway to commercialise the innovation at scale, supported by Filatex India’s manufacturing capabilities and Decathlon’s global sourcing ecosystem.
Both partners said the collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing circularity and accelerating the adoption of sustainable materials in the global sportswear industry
