Engelbert Strauss Joins U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol To Advance Sustainable Sourcing

Engelbert Strauss, a leading workwear and protective clothing brand, has joined the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, reinforcing its commitment to responsible sourcing and supply chain transparency.

By integrating the Trust Protocol’s traceability platform, Strauss gains comprehensive visibility into the journey of U.S.-grown and Protocol Cotton across its supply chain. This move strengthens the company’s broader sustainability framework, which supports eco-conscious practices from raw material sourcing to finished products. The initiative also aims to empower farmers and promote sustainable cotton cultivation that meets rigorous environmental and social standards.

“As a family-owned business, sustainability is at the heart of what we do,” said Henning Strauss, CEO of STRAUSS. “U.S.-grown cotton plays a key role in our American market products. By joining the Trust Protocol, we support transparency, sustainable farming and fair conditions for cotton growers.”

Established in 2020, the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is a voluntary sustainability initiative that offers verified data and unmatched supply chain traceability. The programme has reported its sixth consecutive year of record growth in enrolled cotton acres and growers, despite challenging growing conditions.

“We’re pleased to welcome Engelbert Strauss to the Trust Protocol,” said Daren Abney, Executive Director of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol. “Their commitment to sustainable sourcing in the workwear sector is commendable, and they’ll benefit from tools that help measure and reduce environmental impact.”
