Gear Wash Expands Into Texas With Two New Acquisitions In San Antonio And Dallas

Gear Wash, the nation’s largest verified Independent Service Provider (ISP) of PPE care and maintenance, has announced its expansion into Texas with the acquisition of two new facilities in San Antonio and Dallas. This strategic move highlights Gear Wash’s commitment to supporting fire departments and first responders, especially in states like Texas, where NFPA 1851 compliance is a legal requirement.

Acquired from Gear Cleaning Solutions, the new locations began operations on October 21, 2024, fully compliant with NFPA 1851 standards. This expansion positions Gear Wash to meet the needs of Texas’s first responders in one of the nation’s largest states, alongside California, where NFPA 1851 compliance is also mandated.

“We are thrilled to establish our first Texas locations,” said Taylor Burke Gilman, President of Gear Wash. “This expansion is transformative for both our company and the communities we serve. Our advanced methods, equipment and technologies will give Texas first responders the utmost confidence in their protective gear, allowing us to enhance their safety.”

Gear Cleaning Solutions, known for its NFPA 1851-compliant services and strong relationships with manufacturers, aligns well with Gear Wash’s mission, adding significant value to Gear Wash’s national PPE care capabilities.

“As a firefighter-owned business, we’ve always prioritized customer relationships and safety,” said Rick Johnson, former owner of Gear Cleaning Solutions. “We’re confident that Gear Wash will continue our commitment to firefighter safety while helping us grow.”

With these new facilities, Gear Wash now operates 12 locations and one mobile unit across the US. This growth strengthens its ability to deliver PPE solutions, from inspection and cleaning to repair and alteration, ensuring first responders remain protected and compliant. Gear Wash also offers temporary gear rentals to keep personnel fully equipped, reinforcing safety and compliance for fire services nationwide.
