‘Global Customers Are Looking Beyond Price. They Want Reliable, Integrated And Agile Partners’

Biji Chacko shares insights on the company’s renewed focus, customer re-engagement, and the growing opportunities arising from India’s integrated textile manufacturing capabilities.
For Alok Industries, Bharat Tex 2026 has been more than just a trade exhibition. It has provided the company with an opportunity to reconnect with customers, engage with new partners and present the strength of its integrated textile manufacturing platform to a global audience.
“Bharat Tex has been a very positive and encouraging experience for Alok Industries,” says Biji Chacko, Group COO, Alok Industries.
What has particularly stood out, he says, is not just the diversity of visitors but also the quality of the conversations taking place at the event.
“The quality of interactions, the diversity of visitors and more importantly, the level of serious business discussions have been impressive,” Chacko says.
The company has met existing customers, global retailers, brands, sourcing organisations and potential new partners across its woven fabrics, knitted fabrics and home textile businesses.
“The response we have received to Alok’s capabilities and our renewed business focus has been extremely encouraging,” he adds.
Reconnecting with the market
For Alok, Bharat Tex comes at an important stage in its journey. The company operates one of India’s largest integrated textile manufacturing platforms, with capabilities spanning yarn, fabrics, processing and finished products.
As part of Reliance, the company also benefits from the strength of a strong and long-term institutional platform. The focus now, according to Chacko, is to convert this scale and integration into greater value for customers.
“Our current priority is to translate this scale and integration into greater value for our customers through sharper product development, faster response, consistent quality and improved service,” he says.
The customer is looking beyond price
According to Chacko, price is no longer the only determining factor for global customers.
“The interactions at Bharat Tex have armored our belief that global customers are increasingly looking beyond just price,” he says.
Today, customers are seeking manufacturing partners that can provide reliability, integration and agility while also supporting innovation, speed-to-market, sustainability and supply-chain resilience.
“We believe this creates a significant opportunity for Alok,” he adds.
With its integrated capabilities, the company believes it is well positioned to respond to these changing expectations.
Rebuilding relationships through listening
One of the most encouraging aspects of the event, Chacko says, has been the willingness of customers to re-engage with Alok and explore new possibilities.
“What has been particularly encouraging for me personally is the openness of customers to re-engage, explore new product categories and discuss larger strategic opportunities with Alok,” he says.
The company has also received frank feedback from customers, something Chacko considers equally valuable.
“Listening to the customer and connecting that feedback directly to our manufacturing and operational teams is an important part of the transformation we are driving at Alok,” he explains.
This connection between the market and the manufacturing floor is expected to play an important role in the company’s next phase of growth.
From conversations to long-term partnerships
For Alok, the significance of Bharat Tex extends beyond the exhibition itself.
“Bharat Tex is not just an exhibition for us. It is an important platform to reconnect with the market, rebuild relationships, demonstrate the depth of Alok’s capabilities and understand how customer expectations are evolving,” says Chacko.
However, he believes that the true measure of the event’s success will be determined after the exhibition ends.
“The real measure of success, of course, will be how effectively we convert the discussions and opportunities generated here into sustainable, long-term business partnerships,” he says.
Focused on execution
Chacko believes the opportunity before Alok is significant. The company’s focus now is on execution, getting closer to customers, improving speed and service, strengthening innovation and ensuring that its integrated manufacturing capabilities translate into tangible value for customers.
“The opportunity in front of Alok is significant,” he says. “Our focus now is on execution being closer to our customers, improving speed and service, strengthening innovation and making the full power of Alok’s integrated manufacturing platform work for the customer.”
