Heberlein Expands China Footprint With DTY Innovation And Local Service

Advanced DTY jet technology and a new service hub bring performance and technical support closer to customers

Heberlein, a provider of air interlacing and air texturing jets for synthetic filament yarns, is strengthening its position in the Chinese market with its APh- and APe-series DTY jets, while expanding local customer support through a new service hub in Shengze City.

The Swiss company has seen strong demand for its technologies in China, particularly for Air Covering applications, where its solutions combine yarn quality with reduced compressed-air consumption. The company will showcase its APh- and APe-series at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026 in Shanghai.

Over the past 20 years, Heberlein has expanded its presence in China, with its DTY jets being used for both retrofitting existing production facilities and new investments. With compressed air representing a significant operating cost for spinning mills, reducing consumption has become an important performance indicator.

Heberlein said its compressed-air-saving technology gives its DTY solutions a competitive advantage by helping mills reduce operating costs while maintaining yarn quality.

Air Covering gains momentum
Air Covering has witnessed strong demand in the Chinese market. The process combines elastane with a covering yarn by interlacing the two components at regular intervals using a controlled air jet. The resulting yarns provide stretch, comfort and desirable surface properties and are widely used in leggings and sportswear, underwear, hosiery and socks.

Other applications include stretch fabrics for trousers and jeans, elasticated cuffs, and medical and compression textiles.

Air Covering allows yarn structures to be adapted to the requirements of specific end applications. Parameters including air pressure, jet geometry, overfeed, elastane draft and production speed can be adjusted to achieve the required level of interlacing and yarn performance. The integrated yarn can subsequently be processed in knitting and weaving operations.

Heberlein said the success of its APh-series is linked to its ability to deliver either higher knot stability or lower compressed-air consumption. Comparative data has shown that, for example, when processing PES dtex 330f96, the APh213 can reduce air consumption by up to 10%.

The reduction in compressed-air consumption can either support more reliable downstream processing or help lower operating costs. Heberlein experts can evaluate the potential benefits for individual yarn specifications.

APe-series cuts air consumption
The company’s APe-series represents another area of growth, with its Advanced Performance DTY interlacing jets designed to reduce compressed-air consumption without compromising yarn quality.

According to Heberlein, tests have demonstrated reductions of up to 15% in compressed-air consumption. The company said the resulting savings can make the investment in the new range financially attractive, with the payback period estimated at less than 18 months.

Visitors to ITMA Asia + CITME 2026 will be able to consult Heberlein experts to assess potential improvements in processes, costs and yarn quality based on their individual mill requirements.

Heberlein will exhibit at Booth D41, Hall H6.1, at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026, being held in Shanghai, China, from November 20 to 24.

New service hub strengthens local support
As part of its long-term commitment to China, Heberlein has also established a new service hub in Shengze City. Operational since August 2026, the facility is intended to provide customers with faster access to technical support, product expertise and on-site assistance.

The hub offers quick-response service visits, minor maintenance and cleaning services. It is equipped with a portable air generator, ultrasonic cleaning system, airflow meter and air splicer, allowing service activities and practical testing to be carried out directly at customer sites.

The local team will also provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance during product trials, enabling customers to test and implement solutions more efficiently.
