Ibrahim Fibres Partners With Trützschler To Tackle Unique Fibre Processing Challenge

Ibrahim Fibres, a leading yarn and polyester staple fibre (PSF) manufacturer in Pakistan, operates nearly 200 Trützschler cards, the most of any company in the country. The company recently faced a unique challenge: processing long polyester and viscose fibres for luxury textiles and high-performance fabrics. Trützschler’s R&D team worked closely with Ibrahim Fibres to develop an optimal solution: the TC 30Si carding machine.

Located in Faisalabad, Pakistan’s textile hub, Ibrahim Fibres manufactures a wide range of yarns and produces 1,200 tonnes of PSF daily. With over two decades of collaboration, the company and Trützschler share a commitment to innovation and sustainability. “Trützschler’s advanced technologies, such as MY MILL, and excellent after-sales service have been crucial to our Industry 4.0 and zero-man spinning initiatives,” said Zafar Iqbal, GM of R&D and New Projects at Ibrahim Fibres.

The challenge with long fibres is their tendency to wrap or clog carding elements. Trützschler’s TC 30Si, specifically designed for man-made fibres, offers a solution. The machine’s larger drum diameter, extended carding length, and more active flats enable it to process longer fibres more effectively, improving yarn consistency, product performance and cost efficiency.

Ibrahim Fibres chose the TC 30Si for its advanced features, such as the 1400 mm cylinder diameter and T-GO gap optimizer, which support Industry 4.0 goals and enhance operational efficiency. “The intuitive software and user-friendly interface make maintenance easier, boosting productivity while reducing energy consumption and defects,” said Iqbal.

The successful implementation of the TC 30Si marks the latest milestone in Ibrahim Fibres’ long-standing partnership with Trützschler. Following positive results, the company placed an order for eighteen TC 30Si machines in June 2024, reinforcing its ambition to lead the market with innovative fibre processing solutions.
