Indian Cotton Production To Reach 340 Lakh Bales In 2023-24
In the 2023-24 cotton season, which begins from October 1. India’s cotton production is forecast to reach 330-340 lakh bales (I bale = 170 kg)
J. Thulasidharan, President of the Indian Cotton Federation (ICF) said this at an annual general meeting of the ICF held in Coimbatore.
Thulasidharan also informed that cotton cultivation in India for the 2023-24 season had crossed 12.7 million hectares.
“He also added that in the ongoing cotton season, 335 lakh bales of cotton had arrived in the market. This season will end on September 30,” The Hindu reported.
