Inditex Commits €13 Million To Support Rohingya Refugees

Inditex has renewed its strategic partnership with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), committing €13 million between 2026 and 2028 to improve the living conditions of nearly 1.2 million Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
The funding will support an Integrated Settlement Planning programme focused on enhancing community safety, improving infrastructure, relocating vulnerable families to safer areas, and strengthening climate resilience against floods, landslides and extreme weather.
As part of the agreement, Inditex will also donate 7.5 million garments and footwear items for refugees in humanitarian operations, including in Uganda and Chad, while contributing €2 million towards logistics costs for their distribution.
The renewed partnership builds on a collaboration that began in 2020. Since then, Inditex and UNHCR have provided nearly 9 million clothing, footwear and homeware items to approximately 2.7 million refugees worldwide.
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Barham Salih said the partnership highlights the vital role of the private sector in strengthening safety and climate resilience for displaced communities. Inditex CEO Óscar García Maceiras reaffirmed the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting refugees through humanitarian and community investment initiatives.
Beyond funding and product donations, the partnership also promotes climate adaptation, improved living conditions, refugee inclusion and the sharing of private-sector expertise to enhance humanitarian operations.
