Itema Showing Two Weaving Machines At Techtextil North America

Itema will be displaying two of its most comprehensive weaving machines portfolio to weave technical fabrics at Techtextil North America which will be held from May 17-19 in Atlanta at Stall 2,802.

This includes the UniRap, a Monorapier weaving machine, which combines the advantages of a positive rapier weft insertion with the gentle yarns’ treatment ensured by the free flight transfer.

“This enables weaving of complex and creative fabrics with practically no limitations and maximum textile efficiency,” Itema said in a press release.

UniRap is available in two main versions. The first is UniRap P, which is designed to weave complex technical fabrics such as flat yarns up to 30mm.

While the second, UniRap G is mostly employed to weave specific technical textiles such as metallic or non-metallic raw materials like carbon fibre, aramid and fiberglass single threads of up to 2mm diameter.

“UniRap provides the possibility to weave sophisticated technical fabrics as well as innovative fashion styles,” the Italian company added.

The second machine on display is the Hercules Rapier Weaving Machine which has been designed to excel in the weaving of technical textiles.

According to Itema, Hercules provides unbeatable textile flexibility thanks to its unique weft transfer system that enables the valuable possibility to easily and quickly switch from positive to negative rapiers.

“This leads to unparalleled textile efficiency when handling the widest range of weft yarns counts, from 10 up to 48,000 dtex, in single or multiple weft insertions configurations,” the company stated.

Itema offers solutions for weaving carpet backing, carbon fibre, heavy and standard coating fabrics, conveyor belts and filter fabrics, medical, fiberglass, agrotextile, geotextile, mesh fabrics and more.
