KARL MAYER Unveils UV-Protective Tricot Fabric At ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024
KARL MAYER captivated visitors at ITMA ASIA+CITME 2024 with its innovative tricot fabric in gauge E 44, designed for sun protection clothing. Featured in a stylish outdoor jacket, the fabric combines functionality and comfort, setting new benchmarks in UV protection and wearability.
The warp-knitted fabric offers a UV protection factor more than double that of comparable circular knits with the same weight, making it a standout in the growing sun protection clothing market, projected to reach $14 billion by 2030 with a CAGR of 7.9%. Light, silky-soft and breathable, the fabric ensures a cool, comfortable experience even in hot conditions.
Produced efficiently on the HKS 2-S in E 44, the fabric achieves an impressive output of 200 kg per day. Tang Qi, Textile Application and Development Engineer at KARL MAYER, designed a loose-fitting training jacket to showcase the fabric’s versatility. “Its UV protection and silky-soft feel make it ideal for outdoor activities, offering comfort and freedom of movement,” she noted.
