Lenzing AG Appoints Dr Walter Bickel As Chief Transformation Officer
Lenzing AG has appointed Dr. Walter Bickel as a member of the Managing Board and Chief Transformation Officer, effective from April 15, 2024, until December 31, 2025. Dr Bickel, an experienced manager renowned for his expertise in implementing yield increase programmes, will play a pivotal role in advancing Lenzing’s performance programme.
The performance programme, initiated by the Managing Board in autumn 2023, focuses on enhancing free cash flow, bolstering sales and margin growth and achieving sustainable cost excellence. Dr Bickel’s appointment underscores the programme’s significance for Lenzing’s economic recovery and its commitment to achieving strategic objectives.
With decades of leadership experience in management consulting and industrial companies, Dr Bickel has successfully spearheaded comprehensive performance programmes at organizations such as KUKA, Treofan, and Syntegon. At Lenzing, he will accelerate the performance programme to achieve sustainable increases in earning power and competitiveness.
Cord Prinzhorn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, emphasized the importance of a well-positioned team to navigate current challenges, expressing confidence in Dr Bickel’s ability to strengthen Lenzing. Dr Bickel looks forward to contributing his experience to drive performance improvements within the company.
