Lenzing, Kaihara Unveil REMOD Collection To Expand Denim Design Possibilities

The Lenzing Group has partnered with Japanese denim manufacturer Kaihara Corporation to launch the REMOD Collection, showcasing new textural possibilities and blending options using TENCEL Lyocell fibres.

The collection features three fibre variants: TENCEL Lyocell Standard, TENCEL Lyocell – HV100 and TENCEL Lyocell dtex 2.2. It will be showcased at Lenzing’s booth 19 in the yellow zone at Kingpins Amsterdam on October 14-15, 2026.

The collection combines the authentic appearance and craftsmanship of Japanese denim with enhanced softness, comfort and distinctive fabric textures. The range includes heavyweight men’s jackets, mid-weight wide-leg and stretch jeans, as well as cotton-free casual shirts. It also demonstrates blending possibilities in denim constructions with and without cotton.

“Texture is one of the most defining elements of premium denim, shaping both its character and visual appeal,” said Akihiro Maehara, Director, Market Planning Division at Kaihara Corporation. He said the collaboration uses the distinct characteristics of each TENCEL Lyocell fibre type to balance traditional denim aesthetics with softness, drape and comfort.

Each fibre offers different design possibilities. TENCEL Lyocell – HV100 delivers a cotton-inspired appearance, with variations in fibre length creating a matte, more opaque look. TENCEL Lyocell dtex 2.2 offers a coarser texture and a natural slub effect reminiscent of linen, providing structure and body. Standard TENCEL Lyocell fibres contribute softness, fluid drape and colour depth.

Lenzing said the collection builds on its long-standing relationship with Kaihara, which has incorporated TENCEL fibres into its collections since the 1990s.

HV100 network expands to nearly 50 mills
The launch also highlights the expansion of the TENCEL Lyocell – HV100 mill network. Introduced at Kingpins Amsterdam in October 2025 with 17 mills across five countries, the network had grown to 37 mills in nine countries by April 2026. The latest expansion takes it to nearly 50 mills across 13 countries, with Indian mills joining for the first time.

According to Lenzing, the fibre can be processed using existing machinery, process steps and chemicals, allowing participating mills to broaden their material offerings without additional capital investment.

“Brands want more choices in how they create denim, but they also want confidence in the materials and partners they work with,” said Tuncay Kılıçkan, Head of Global Business Development, Denim at Lenzing. He said the expanding mill network gives brands greater sourcing options and flexibility in developing future denim collections.

Dennis Hui, Global Business Development Manager, Denim at Lenzing, said the collection demonstrates how the three fibre variants can deliver different textures and fabric characteristics while maintaining denim’s appeal and comfort.

The collection will be presented alongside other Lenzing fibre innovations at Kingpins Amsterdam on October 14-15.
