Lenzing Launches New Fine & Coarse Fibres In Lyocell Dry Range
Lenzing Nonwovens, a leader in regenerated cellulose fibres, is expanding its Lenzing Lyocell Dry fibre portfolio with two new cellulosic fibres: a fine dry fibre for strength and softness, and a coarse dry fibre for enhanced liquid and air flow. These innovations allow customers to extend Lenzing’s wood-based, biodegradable fibres into diverse applications with high performance.
All Lenzing Lyocell Dry fibres, including the new fine and coarse versions, feature hydrophobic properties that support effective liquid management across nonwoven applications. The fine fibre offers up to 30% higher density for strength and softness, ideal for hygiene products like diapers and sanitary pads. The coarse fibre, with a larger diametre, enhances air and liquid flow, suited for acquisition and distribution layers in hygiene items and industrial filtration.
Monique Buch, Executive Vice President Nonwoven at Lenzing AG, noted, “Our diverse range of hydrophobic, cellulosic fibres offers an alternative to plastic-based materials, aligning with the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD), and broadens application possibilities for our customers.”
