NIFT Mumbai Conducts Three-Day Orientation Programme For New Batch

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai welcomed 328 newly admitted students and their parents through its three-day Orientation Programme 2026 held from July 29–31.
The programme introduced students to NIFT’s academic framework, campus facilities, student support systems and opportunities for holistic development. Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Khare, Director, NIFT Mumbai, welcomed the students and highlighted the institute’s vision, academic excellence and culture of innovation.
A key highlight of the programme was an interactive alumni panel featuring successful graduates from fashion design, technology, management and communication disciplines. Alumni shared insights on industry trends, entrepreneurship, sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and career development, while reflecting on the role NIFT Mumbai played in shaping their professional journeys.

Students also participated in awareness sessions on gender sensitivity and anti-ragging, conducted by Life Skills Consultant Sashi Rekha Tallapragada, promoting an inclusive, safe and respectful campus environment.
The final day, celebrated as Gen-Z Day at Campus, focused on innovation, sustainability and responsible leadership. Activities included campus tours, creative wellness workshops and the NEXT GEN Challenges, where students explored themes such as Indian handlooms, environmental responsibility, digital well-being, consumer-centric innovation and the role of technology in shaping the future.
Through a blend of academic orientation, alumni engagement, experiential learning and sustainability-focused initiatives, NIFT Mumbai provided its incoming students with a strong foundation as they begin their academic journey at one of India’s leading fashion education institutions.
