Pakistan’s Textile & Apparel Exports Hit 12-Month Low In April
Pakistan’s textile and apparel exports hit a 12-month low in April where they stood at US 1.237 billion as against $1.232 billion reported in April 2023.
According to data from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), textile and garments exports declined by 4.84 percent in April 2024 and stood at $1.237 billion compared to $1.300 billion in March 2024.
But, textile and clothing exports witnessed an increase of 0.37 percent year on year in the month under review when compared to $1.232 billion during the same month of last year.
In the first ten months of fiscal ending June 2024, exports from the industry dropped 0.19 percent and stood at $13.683 billion vis-à-vis $13.709 billion during the same period of last year.
However cotton yarn exports registered an impressive 32.83 percent year on year growth in the July to April period and stood at $845.923 million.
