Rajiv Memani Takes Over As CII President For 2025-26

The newly constituted National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has elected Rajiv Memani, Chairman and CEO of EY India, as President for 2025-26. He succeeds Sanjiv Puri, Chairman & Managing Director of ITC Ltd.

Memani, who also chairs EY’s Global Growth Markets Council and serves on the EY Global Executive Board, brings over two decades of leadership in corporate finance, strategic advisory and policy engagement. He previously served as President-Designate of CII (2024-25) and Vice President (2023-24). He has played key roles in government committees, including the 2019 Direct Tax Code taskforce, and actively contributes to education and social impact through organizations like Him Jyoti School and the EY Foundation.

  • President-Designate: R Mukundan, MD & CEO, Tata Chemicals Ltd
  • Vice President: Dr. Suchitra K Ella, co-founder & MD, Bharat Biotech

R Mukundan, who will serve as President-Designate, is a veteran of the Tata Group with over three decades of experience across sectors. A strong voice in the industry, he has led various CII committees, including on environment and industrial relations.

Dr. Suchitra K Ella

Dr. Suchitra K Ella, appointed as Vice President, is a pioneering entrepreneur and co-founder of Bharat Biotech. Honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2022, she has also led several CII initiatives, including the Indian Women’s Network and the Southern Region Council.
