SANKO Textile Earns TRUECYCLED Certification For Post-Consumer Textile Recycling

Trützschler has awarded its TRUECYCLED certification to SANKO Textile, recognizing the Turkish textile manufacturer’s efforts in transforming post-consumer textile waste into high-quality recycled yarns and advancing circular textile production at industrial scale.
The certificate was officially presented during ITM 2026 in Istanbul by Stephan Witt, CEO of the Trützschler Group, to Hakan Konukoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors at SANKO.
With more than 122 years of textile manufacturing experience, SANKO Textile has integrated the TRUECYCLED process into its operations to convert post-consumer textile waste into ring-spun yarns, supporting greater traceability and scalability in textile recycling.
A key showcase at the exhibition is a collection of T-shirts produced using recycled ring-spun yarns under SANKO Holding’s recycling brand, Re&Up. The garments demonstrate how discarded textiles can be transformed into commercially viable, high-quality apparel.
The T-shirts are made from dyed single jersey fabric comprising 80% Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton and 20% Re&Up post-consumer recycled cotton. The neck binding features a 1×1 elastane rib blend incorporating BCI cotton, recycled cotton and elastane to enhance comfort, durability and performance.
SANKO Textile currently operates with a yarn production capacity of 400 tonnes per day and maintains fully integrated manufacturing operations spanning spinning, knitting, dyeing and finishing. The company says the certification reinforces its commitment to combining large-scale production with responsible manufacturing practices.
TRUECYCLED is Trützschler’s comprehensive spinning preparation solution for textile recycling, covering opening, cleaning, carding and drawing processes for secondary fibres. The system is designed to help manufacturers achieve consistent processing performance and produce high-quality recycled yarns from post-consumer textile waste.
The certification highlights growing industry efforts to scale fibre-to-fibre recycling and support the transition towards a more circular textile economy.
