Slack & Parr To Showcase Advanced Gear Pump Solutions At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

Precision gear metering specialist Slack & Parr will present its enhanced range of large-capacity gear pumps for the heavy denier, industrial and nonwoven markets at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, taking place in Singapore from October 28–31. The company will exhibit in Hall 4, Stand D305.

A member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), Slack & Parr supplies high-accuracy gear metering pumps across the manmade fibre market. Its technologies are used to process a wide range of polymers and fibres, ensuring uniformity and consistency in the production of high-quality yarns and textiles including acrylic, polyester, nylon, spandex and aramid.

Expanded Range of IDY Pumps
With decades of experience supplying the international technical textiles sector, the company has recently introduced an updated range of specialist Industrial Yarn (IDY) pumps. Engineered to deliver robust and reliable performance, these pumps are designed to process high-viscosity polymers for industrial yarns, even in demanding environments involving high pressures and elevated temperatures, while maintaining precise flow at variable speeds.

The new-generation pumps have been further developed in collaboration with a leading Japanese plant equipment manufacturer. The joint review process included extensive trials focusing on pump design, strengths, material selection and overall performance. Following successful testing, Slack & Parr has been approved as a supplier for the manufacturer’s equipment, with pumps fully compatible for use in both new and existing IDY machine installations worldwide.

Features and Capabilities
At ITMA Asia, visitors will be able to explore the pumps’ defining features and tailor-made specifications for different applications. Pump designs include:

  • 1- and 2-outlet models with capacities ranging from 5–50 cc/rev, extendable up to 100 cc/rev in the single-stream version.
  • 4-outlet models with capacities from 15–50 cc/rev.
All options are available with multiple sealing methods and drive configurations to suit specific manufacturing requirements.

Market Outlook
“We’re seeing steady growth in the industrial yarn market as manufacturers look to diversify into technical textiles, expand their portfolios and improve profitability while maintaining market share,” said Paul Wykes, Global Sales Director, Slack & Parr.

“Customers that have traditionally focused on commodity markets such as polyester and nylon are now leveraging their expertise to enter specialty fibre and industrial yarn sectors. With our extensive product range, decades of proven experience and the flexibility to match metering technologies to the exact needs of each application, Slack & Parr is ideally positioned to support manufacturers looking to diversify into new markets.”
