SOLARIC Installs 421 KWp Rooftop Solar Plant At COATS BD
SOLARIC, the largest rooftop solar company in Bangladesh and a leader in sustainable energy solutions, has announced the successful completion of a new 421 KWp rooftop solar power plant at the COATS BD factory in Rajendrapur, Gazipur. The installation will enhance the factory’s energy mix with clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, lowering electricity costs, and improving energy security.
The new solar plant is expected to generate 538,000 KWh of green energy annually, offsetting approximately 369 metric tons of carbon emissions each year. The installation includes 648 PV modules of 650Wp capacity each from Trina Solar, four 100KW grid-tied inverters from Sungrow, and special flash mount technology from SOLARIC for the mounting structure. A remote monitoring system has also been integrated for efficient management.
COATS BD will consume all the energy generated under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) signed between the two companies. This initiative aligns with COATS BD’s commitment to generating at least 30% of its energy from renewable sources in the future.

Beyond environmental benefits, the project also brings economic advantages. It created jobs during construction and will continue to generate employment opportunities through ongoing maintenance and support.
SOLARIC remains committed to supporting a sustainable future. The company previously completed the world’s largest rooftop solar plant at a single site, with a capacity of 34 MWp, at the KEPZ in Chattogram. This mega plant generates enough green energy to support the entire Export Processing Zone under the government’s net-metering policy.
