Sportking India Commences Solar Power Operations In Punjab

Sportking India Ltd., has commenced commercial operations of its solar power project in Punjab with effect from June 18, 2026, marking a key step in its shift toward cleaner and more cost-efficient energy use.
The company expects the project to deliver significant operational benefits, including an estimated 12–13 per cent annual reduction in power costs. The initiative is also aimed at improving energy efficiency and strengthening long-term competitiveness in the textile manufacturing sector.
Beyond cost savings, the solar project supports Sportking India’s environmental and sustainability goals by reducing its carbon footprint and increasing the share of renewable energy in its overall power consumption.
The project follows a Solar Power Purchase Agreement (SPPA) signed on August 2, 2025, with Evincea Renewable Seven for the supply of solar power to its facilities in Punjab.
Sportking India Ltd operates across yarn manufacturing, textile processing, knitted fabric production, garmenting and retail. The commissioning of the solar project reflects the company’s continued focus on integrating sustainability with operational efficiency.
