SRTX Appoints Sophie Boulanger As CEO To Drive Global Growth

Canadian materials innovator SRTX, the company behind Sheertex, has appointed Sophie Boulanger as Chief Executive Officer as it looks to scale globally and strengthen its wholesale and private-label business.
Boulanger, one of Canada’s most prominent retail entrepreneurs, previously co-founded and led BonLook, a direct-to-consumer eyewear brand that expanded to 40 stores across the country before its acquisition by FYidoctors in 2021. With more than two decades of experience in retail and consumer goods, she is credited with transforming Canada’s optical industry and building brands with strong consumer engagement.
“SRTX has built one of the most innovative materials companies of our time, with Sheertex redefining durability in fashion and apparel,” Boulanger said. “I am honoured to join at such a pivotal stage and look forward to expanding our reach, scaling operations, and shaping the future of sustainable textiles.”
The appointment follows SRTX’s recent US$40 million fundraising round backed by BDC Capital, Export Development Canada, H&M Group and Investissement Québec. In 2023, the company expanded into a 300,000 sq ft vertically integrated facility in Montreal, designed to reduce costs and ramp up production of its Sheertex tights.
Lead investors welcomed the appointment, citing Boulanger’s “entrepreneurial mindset, operational expertise, and consumer-centric vision” as key to accelerating the company’s next phase of growth.
