TAI Appoints R. K. Vij As New National President

The Textile Association India (TAI) has announced the election of its new office bearers for the term 2025–2027 during the Governing Council meeting held on November 22, 2025, at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore. After a fair and transparent election process conducted from the valid nominations received, Returning Officer Dr. G. S. Nadiger declared that R. K. Vij has been unanimously elected as the National President for the new term.

K. Vij brings with him an impressive experience of over 46 years in successfully managing textile and fibre businesses in a competitive industry environment. He currently serves as Advisor – Polyester at Indorama Synthetics (India) Ltd, a major player in India’s polyester sector.

Academically, Vij holds an MBA from Delhi University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from YMCA, New Delhi and a B. Tech in Textiles from The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences (TITS), Bhiwani.

A respected and familiar figure within TAI, Vij earlier served as National President for the term 2021–2023, followed by his tenure as President (Emeritus) during 2023–2025. Over the years, he has remained actively associated with both the Delhi unit and the Central Office of TAI. His contributions have earned him notable recognitions, including the Service Memento in 2007 at the All India Textile Conference in Ahmedabad and the Service Gold Medal in 2017 at the All India Textile Conference in Nagpur.

Beyond his work with TAI, Vij represents the Association at the Ministry of Textiles and other government bodies on issues related to textiles and man-made fibres. He also holds key leadership roles in the industry, serving as Secretary-General of the Polyester Textiles & Apparel Association (PTAA) India and as Vice Chairman (Textile Committee) of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

With his deep experience and industry engagement, R. K. Vij believes that with the continued support of the industry and associations, the Indian textile sector is poised to reach new heights in the coming years.
