TMAS Joins ITMF As Associate Member, Enhancing Global Textile Machinery Collaboration

The Swedish Textile Machinery Association (TMAS) has recently become an Associate Member of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), further expanding ITMF’s role as a premier international forum for the global textile manufacturing value chain.

With ITMF already representing companies responsible for approximately 90% of global textile and apparel production, the addition of TMAS strengthens its reach within the industry. This expansion aligns with ITMF’s ongoing efforts, including this year’s annual conference scheduled to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from September 8-10, in conjunction with the International Apparel Federation’s 2024 Fashion Convention. This follows the success of the 2023 ITMF Annual Conference in Keqiao, China.

TMAS brings a wealth of expertise to ITMF, with its members representing leading Swedish companies specializing in textile technology. Their capabilities encompass advanced systems for yarn fault detection and tension monitoring, yarn feeding technology for weaving, automated sewing production lines, cutting machines, embroidery technology, effective material handling systems, spray application systems for fabric finishing, and more.

Christian Schindler, Director General of ITMF, expressed his enthusiasm about TMAS joining as a member, stating, “ITMF is delighted to welcome TMAS as its latest member, which will only strengthen our position as a unique international platform for the global textile value chain. Forging links with advanced textile machinery providers is extremely beneficial to our textile and apparel manufacturing members, who are always seeking the latest technologies and solutions to stay ahead in a fast-changing and challenging business environment.”

Therese Premier-Andersson, Secretary General of TMAS, emphasized the importance of collaboration across the textile supply chain, stating, “Active collaboration across the supply chain is now vital to achieving the textile industry’s sustainable goals, and we all need to work more closely together going forward. Joining the ITMF provides TMAS members with a unique set of statistics, publications and surveys that help in better understanding the global dynamics of the textile value chain. Additionally, ITMF conferences and workshops provide unique opportunities for our members to meet and network with industry colleagues from around the world. ITMF’s information and networks are helping the industry to better analyze global trends and develop winning strategies.”
